  2. Administering Oaths and Affirmations: Notaries can administer oaths and affirmations for affidavits and other legal documents.

  3. Certifying Copies: Notaries can certify copies of certain documents, attesting that they are true and complete copies of the original documents.

  4. Verifying Identities: Notaries verify the identities of signatories by examining government-issued identification documents.

Be prepared!!

  • *** Do not sign or date any papers until you're with the notary. Papers that are already signed or dated beforehand can't be approved by a notary.

  • Ensure that you have all of the documents that need to be notarized with you.

  • Be sure the documents are complete and ready for signature. If you are in need of any legal advice, please CONSULT AN ATTORNEY *** The notary public is prohibited from helping you to prepare, complete, or understand legal documents.

  • Some documents may require the signatureof a witnesses in addition to the notarization. You will need to coordinate this in advance to ensure you have the proper witness, I am unable to provide one for you.
